Saying grace

The UK is planning on extending the "grace period" for goods imported into the UK until the end of the year at least, and seems to hope that the EU will do the same for our exports.

The theme from Brexiteers is that the UK is trying to be nice, so the EU should be nice back. But the truth is that UK just is not ready, and David Frost has carried out a reveiw of preparations and seems to be alarmed at how poor they are.

Which surprises no one, really.

There is real worries that additional checks will result in falls of import voume in the same way tat exports have, with many trucks going back empty to avoid EU checks.

Once again the point here is that the UK could have extended the transition period, but chose not to, even when many sectors were shouting it needed to be done. This is also the EU's view, so why should they compromise their rules because the UK Government were so stuck in their ways, ignoring reality.

So, it seems that we have taken control of our borders giving us the power to relax our borders to avoid food shortages.

Don't remeber seeing that on the side of a bus.
