And more lies

Yesterday, in a Radio 4 interview, Dominic Raab was asked about a 2011 pamphlet he co-authored. His name was clearly on the front cover.

He claimed to have forgotten about it, but when pressed he blustered that the provision of shops or florists in a hospital should not be run by the NHS so no one should worry about the NHS being privatised.

"I can tell you categorically I've never advocated privatisation of the NHS." He said

But in 2011 he wrote:

“A crucial task for any healthcare reform must be to make sure that we don’t endanger this, and introduce a cycle of ever-increasing costs.”

"The current monolith should be broken up."

"Hospitals should be given their independence, extending the Foundation Hospital model - initially controversial but now almost universally accepted."

"New non-profit and private operators should be allowed into the service and, indeed, should compete on price."

In a Sky interview he also said:

The US will be free to charge higher prices for drugs bought by the NHS after Brexit, but insisted the prospect is “hugely unlikely”.

He then said: “I think it’s hugely unlikely, why would they do that?” Sky News interviewer Adam Boulton responded: “To get more money, that’s why.”

And people still trust Tories?
