How remain lost. Again.

The Greens, SNP, LebDems and (most) of Labour wanted remain or at least a referendum in the election. Overall, 55% of people voted for the above, 45% for those still advocating leave.

And Leave still lost. Again.

In most constituencies, there was a single clear challenger to the Tory candidate, and it would have been a simnple task for the third, 4th, 5th parties to stand their candidates down to make it a clear Leave?Remain choice. And in dozens of seats this would have resulted in anyone by Tory getting in.

But the above parties engaged in tribalism again, Swinson saying the LibDems would not support Labour, Labour saying it would not work with the LibDems, SNP and so on, and even engaged in attack lines on their fellow remain supporting parties rather than concenreate on the common enemy.

So, Remain lost. Again.

And on top of the above, Remain had actual facts and figures on its side which to back it up.

And yet, still lost.

Swinson lost her seat, so will not be leader of the LibDems any more, can't say she'll be missed. Corbyn will be forced out. And only Nichola Sturgeon remained stateswomanlike through the campaign, and if there would have been an SNP candidate in Dover, I would have voted for them, on leadership and policies alone.

So, the leaders of Labour and LibDems in particular ensured that there was a Conservative win, one with a working majority, a result which will reshape the country and cause millions of poor, sick, disabled and otherwise disadvantaged people years of misery. By missing the open goals that Brexit and Johnson gave them.

There will be more than enough blame to go round.
