More broken promises

Johnson is a liar, a fact that should surprise no one, but less than a week after the election, a "spokesman for Number 10" rowed back on promises given by the PM during the campaign on worker's rights and environmental regulations being kept strong.

The long forecast "bonfire of rights" will be oh too real.

And with a majority, nothing much anyone can do to stop him. But don't say you were not warned, and not to take Johnson at his "word", he lies therefore he is Boris.

And in a repeat of May's insistence that Brexit Day be enshrined in law, only to have to amend that when it was clear the UK wasn't ready, Johnson is to also enshrine in law the UK legislation stopping any further extension to the WA extension period.

This grandstanding for the party faithful, but will set alarm bells ringing in industry. Balancing the headbangers in the ERG with the needs of industry will require someone with supreme political skills, we have Alexander Boris de Piffel Johnson.

As I said, 2020 will be fraught and exciting. Especially with a liar in charge.
