No soft landings

Johnson has informed business that they should expect no soft landing for Brexit, the UK would leave come what may by the end of 2020, and leave the CU and SM.

And make preparations.

All gains by the pound made last Friday were lost in early trading.

Balancing out what the headbangers want and what business needs is going to be impossible.

Much was made of Johnson getting an updated WA, but he did this by caving in the EU's demands. I mean any old fool can do that, so the only way a FTA of any kind could be agreed would be to cave in on lots of areas.

There will be a choice: close links with the EU or potential trade with the US< not both.

Johnson will have to choose one or the other, until he is pressed, or reality comes knocking, he will bluster that he will play hardball. But the EU has seen Johnson back down once before and will expect him to do so again.

Boris will let one side down, maybe both, and then the accusations of betrayal will start again.
