Post truth

Politicians always lie. Always have.

But this year we have seen the Prime Minister actually deny the truth on an almost daily, if not hourly basis.

And hardly anyone calls this out. Its just accepted.

I cannot for the life of me work out how we came to get here, or where it takes us.

Take the leak of the NI protocol: this was clearly a Government document, but the attack is not on the context, well at first, but on whether the leak came from Russia. And remember this is from a Government that is sitting on a report into Russian interference in the last election.

And then denying the content.

That the simple fact that the WA will break up the internal UK market and require customs declations is accepted by just about everyone, other than the PM.

It is there in a Government report in black and white.

But that's not true.

And it is being reported that the document came from Russia first, not that it is a UK Government document first and foremost.

Reality is coming, but it might be too late for truth. And the country.
